Terms of Service

The service

CUE is a companion for film lovers. It helps you bring your watchlists together, find films you and your friends want to see, plan a night in or out, run a film club, check content notes, and hear when a film you want is screening near you.

CUE is always being improved, so features may change or move as it grows.

Your account

You create an account with an email and a username. Keep your password to yourself, and treat anything that happens under your account as yours.

Please don't impersonate anyone, misrepresent yourself, or get in the way of other people's experience.

Your data

Your data stays yours. When you connect a Letterboxd account, CUE reads your public watchlist and diary so it can find the films you and your friends want to watch, and stores it so your library loads quickly.

We don't sell your data, and we don't advertise at you. We only share what's needed to run the service you've asked for.

Using CUE

Use CUE the way it's meant to be used. Don't try to break it, overload it, or pull out bulk data from it, and don't post anything unlawful or harassing in the shared spaces.

We may suspend accounts that repeatedly break these terms.

Other services

CUE works alongside Letterboxd, TMDB, OMDB, and other public services. They're independent, with their own terms, and CUE isn't affiliated with them. Film data, artwork, and ratings belong to their respective rights holders.

Changes

We may update these terms from time to time and will flag any material change in the app. Carrying on after a change takes effect means you accept it.
